SolarCity
Shay works for SolarCity, where he leads the Design and Innovation team. As such it was only logical that SolarCity would be involved in the project. Shay is excited about finally getting the chance to get some solar on his own home.
SolarCity is New Zealand's largest solar company, providing solar water heating and photovoltaic solutions for residential properties and businesses across the country.
SolarCity is supplying both the solar water heating system and photovoltaic systems for the project. The solar roof will be the first fully integrated solar water heating and photovoltaic roof in New Zealand, utilising Thermocell Artline solar thermal system (manufactured in New Zealand) and a yet-to-be-announced PV roof integration product.
We're currently working on the video of the roof installation; it'll be released on the website in early June as 'Step 2. Solar Capture'.
