Autex
Autex is a New Zealand-based manufacturing and product development company specialising in textiles and advanced fibre technology.
We've chosen to use Autex's GreenStuf home insulation product throughout the house due to the following benefits:
- It's made from 100% polyester fibre, bonded using heat instead of traditional chemical binders. This makes it non-toxic, non-irritating, and non-allergenic, which is better for both the builders installing it and us when we move in.
- It contains a minimum of 45% recycled polyester fibre made from used and recycled PET bottle flakes.
- The polyester fibres are fully recyclable at the end of the product's life.
- It comes with a 50 year durability warranty.
Insulation is a key component in being able to eliminate the need for heating. We'll be providing more detail in an upcoming video clip about designing and constructing the 'Building Envelope'.
