Aquatherm
Aquatherm were first extablished in 1973 and developed polypropylene pipe systems 1980. These systems are now used extensively internationally.
The Zero Energy House is using Fusiotherm SDR7.4 polypropylene pipe for all potable water supply, and Aquatherm lilac SDR7.4/11 pipe for non-potable rain water supply pipe.
We are using these products on the Zero Energy House for the following reasons:
- Durable - all joints in the system are fused together. The product has a predicted life of 50 years for hot and colder water applications
- As the product is made from poly-propylene it can be fully recycled
- The plastic walls of of the pipe system have improved thermal properties, reducing heat loss when compared to copper
